Christ-centered, faith-based solutions for youth, adults, and families struggling with life-controlling problems, such as addiction.
Adult and Teen Challenge is holistic – meaning that we are concerned with the body, mind, and spirit of those who come to us for help. We endeavor to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive. Read more.
As indicated by our name, Adult and Teen Challenge works with adults and teens. Most adults who arrive at our doors bring with them a tragic history of substance abuse and other life-controlling problems. At Adult and Teen Challenge, the journey to sobriety includes attention to the spiritual needs of those who seek our help.
With a focus on the practical applications of Christian teachings, adults not only learn how to change deeply entrenched, self-destructive behavior but to discover a new identity in Christ that makes these changes possible. Adults who come to Adult and Teen Challenge not only receive a holistic approach to recovery from life-controlling problems, but acquire a new value system that honors family, takes responsibility for community, cultivates a positive work ethic, and helps them become productive, healthy members of society.
Through our faith-based recovery program for adults, along with the structure, accountability, and camaraderie set in a Christian environment, Teen Challenge offers adolescents and their families constructive time and space to regroup and rediscover life, health, and well-being.
As parents watch the nightmare unfold when their teen becomes self-destructive, they wonder how they will ever reconnect with the son or daughter that they fear they are losing. It is the most helpless, hopeless feeling in the world, and it can overwhelm an entire family with unimaginable pain, chaos, and despair.
Adult and Teen Challenge’s adolescent programs understand this heartache and can step in with age-appropriate care, an opportunity to continue pursuing an education, and Christian mentoring that can help young people find their way back to who they were before they got lost in life-controlling problems.
Life-controlling problems of teens are not limited to drugs or alcohol. Many of them struggle with the debris of divorce, have experienced traumas like sexual assault or violence, bullying, peer pressure, and awkwardness that accompanies the challenges of growing up.
Through our faith-based recovery program for teens, along with the structure, accountability, and camaraderie set in a Christian environment, Teen Challenge offers adolescents and their families constructive time and space to regroup and rediscover life, health, and well-being.
